Bastides and vineyards of Gaillac

The Gaillac vineyard is one of the oldest in France! Come and (re)discover reds, rosés or whites, the range available is as vast as the colors of the sky. Here, it’s all about wines, winemakers and, above all, passion.

Strolling through the villages and bastides, you’ll meet the people of the Tarn and their wineries. Gaillac, Puycelsi, Lisle sur Tarn

It’s a land of wines and know-how to be savored with gourmandise. Each step tells a Tarn story, delivers a recipe and delights the eye.

Albigeois

Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Cordes sur ciel, which has been flying high above the clouds since the 13th century, Ambialet, a meandering town, Monestiés, classified as the most beautiful village in France, Carmaux and its mining past…

Albi, Cordes sur ciel, Ambialet, Monestiés, Carmaux… this region is a real treasure trove. The bastides, towns and wide-open spaces of Ségala offer an astonishing range of discoveries.

Whether you’re a history buff or a mountain biker, the sensations are always strong…

Lac de Merle, granite rocks of Sidobre & Monts de Lacaune in the Tarn department

Sidobre & Monts de Lacaune

Between the granite rocks of the Sidobre (Europe’s largest granite plateau) and the grandiose panoramas of the Monts de Lacaune (and its many lakes), we enter the wildest part of the Tarn.

In the heart of the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park, this land of wide-open spaces, rocky outcrops, water and cured meats will feed your most beautiful legends.

Hiking, villages, gastronomy, encounters… you’re in the land of true sensations.

Castres, Mazamet & the Black Mountains

Castres, Mazamet, Hautpoul or Labruguière, the towns and villages of the Pays d’Autan have witnessed centuries of art, religion, conflict and tradition.

The Montagne Noire, its thick greenery, the magic it exudes, the stories it tells and the heritage it harbors mean that nature is abundant and the people generous.

A strong, colourful character, a shared history, influences from other cultures… have shaped a fine team… rugby, of course!

In Castres, the gentle way of life is colored by Spanish good humor and Italian dolce vita! Climb aboard a coche d’eau for a gentle stroll. You’ll meet Goya and Jaurès in their respective museums, sit on a terrace and let yourself be carried away by the cobbled streets… perfect for a romantic break!

Mazamet’ s industrial heritage is still very much alive. Today, the village is turning its attention to the development of green tourism, but it hasn’t forgotten its heyday in the 19th century, when délainage played a leading role in Mazamet’s economy. In the streets, the past has left some traces, like these elegant and impressive private mansions, witnesses of this privileged era… The story of a beautiful reconversion.

Bleu pastel Pays de Cocagne in Tarn

Pays de Cocagne

The Pays de Cocagne owes its name above all to the “coques”, a stage in the processing of pastel to obtain the famous “pastel blue”.

Flower-filled hills with panoramic views of the Pyrenees, pink brick walls or houses with blue shutters, the spirit of the South-West is here!

The Pays de Cocagne is full of wonders. Shiver in the medieval underground of Saint-Sulpice, awe in front of the cathedral of Saint Alain and its Jacquemart in Lavaur, mystery under the Vauban vault at Les Cammazes, serenity in Dourgne and its abbeys, medieval atmosphere in Lautrec (and its pink garlic), emotion at the abbey-school of Sorèze (Musée Dom Robert, abbaye-école)…

Pays de cocagne, land of plenty!
